Hayes performs intimate show for fans

When he last played a concert in England, Darren Hayes performed as part of a sold out theatrical extravaganza at the Royal Albert Hall featuring special effects, multiple stages and costumes designed by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
This Friday he'll be performing for free at a Borders Book Store in Burlington.
"I'm not precious about things like that," he said. "I can sell out a huge auditorium in Europe, but I'm not that level of artist in the Unites States. I don't think I deserve to be any more successful than I am. I'm just thankful people show up."
For those unfamiliar with Hayes - so far - here's a mini biography: He was the singer in Australian pop duo Savage Garden and, with that band and as a solo artist, has sold more than 25 million records worldwide. His latest CD is This Delicate Thing We've Made.
"It will be fun to sit with people in an intimate setting and sing for them," he said of his upcoming appearance. "I'm lucky that the songs hold up. You can strip them to the bone and they still make sense."
Darren Hayes will perform and sign CDs at Borders, 6 Wayside Road, Burlington, on Friday, December 7th at 12:30 p.m.
