New Darren album on the way
Darren Hayes has confirmed the release of a new album in 2007 indie style.
Through his solo efforts as well as the combination of Savage Garden, Darren Hayes' total album sales are well over twenty million copies. This number is set to significantly increase when the singer's third solo album is released later in the year.
The album, for which a title has not yet been revealed, is set to be a double album, and was recorded late last year. The album is set to be released in August.
Hayes had parted ways from former record company SonyBMG last year. After reportedly receiving offers from other major labels, Darren has revealed that he will be releasing the album independently through his own record label, named Powdered Sugar.
Recently, Darren said "I feel lucky that the commercial success of my past has allowed me the financial freedom to record my new record independently. It makes artistic sense for me to retain the creative freedom and control I've enjoyed recently and continue forging ahead on my own terms."
It has not yet been confirmed whether Hayes will be returning to Australia to promote the new album.
