COULDN'T get Kylie out of your head last year? It's no surprise, considering the singing superstar has been named the most broadcast artist on our airwaves again.
For the second consecutive year, Kylie has topped the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia's (PPCA) annual list of the top 50 artists broadcast on local radio.
Based on playlist data from the 2002/2003 financial year, the London-based pop star had three tracks from her Fever album in the top 50most broadcast songs - but none in the top 10.
Taxiride topped that list with the single Creepin' Up Slowly.
Chanteuse Delta Goodrem made the list with her first two singles, Born To Try (8) and Lost Without You (11).
Songs from Disco Montego, The Androids, Holly Valance, Motor Ace, Amiel and Dannii Minogue also made the top 50.
Despite Savage Garden splitting in 2000, they proved enduring radio staples, with the duo's repertoire making them the 45th most broadcast artist for 2003.
Others who proved inescapable were Silverchair, INXS, Bachelor Girl and Grinspoon.
International stars whose material was flogged during the year were Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton, Shakira, Christina Aguilera and Robbie Williams.
This reflected airplay trends overseas and proved pop is still the most popular genre on playlists of tightly formatted Australian commercial radio stations.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2 were the only two rock acts to join Silverchair in the most broadcast artists' top 10.
The Beatles, Santana, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac also made the top 50 artists' list.
