(Big thanks to vampyricnature for typing up this transcript for us and to Sharon for letting me use her great stills from the show)

Lisa: Many said that Darren Hayes, formerly Savage Garden, was taking a big risk in embarking on a solo career. But when one listens to His new CD, "Spin", it's clear His gamble paid off big time. Please welcome back to the show, Darren Hayes. Darren, welcome back.

Darren: Thank you.

Lisa: I have got to tell you, I have gotten so many emails about you comeing on the show, so we're thrilled to have you. Why did you decide to go solo?

Darren: You know, I think we kinda got bored to be honest. Um, we bother wanted new challenge. I mean, I was, I don't know, I was like 20 when I met Daniel and I'll be 30 this year and, you know, we're sold 20 million records together, it was one amazing run. But, you know, he - he kinda wanted to produce records and I wanted to continue on. I couldn't imagine not - not singing and not doing this anymore.

Lisa: That's an enormous amount of records. You guys were so popular and you went multi-platinum. Is there a lot of pressure to be . . . to be solo now?

Darren: *Deadpan* Not at all. *Bursts out laughing* Sure, I mean, it's, um, I try not to think about it too myuch, but there's an expectation and in some ways for me, this is my 3rd album. But in a lot of ways, it's - it's - it's like starting again. It's like I'm a brand new artist. So, I'm just trying to keep the expectations down and have fun.

Lisa: Well I hardly even recognized when you walking into the door today.

Darren: Right.

Lisa: Because you had that black hair -

Darren: Right.

Lisa: - for so long and many people have asked me -

Darren: Right.

Lisa: - why you decided to go to blonde.

*Shows two pictures of Darren - one when His hair was long and black, and a recent one of Him at the AMAs*

Lisa: You're rolling your eyes.

Darren: I mean, did anyone ever think that that hair was real? I mean, come on! It was, it cost $8.00 at a drugstore. I mean, it was, uh, I'm Australian. You k now? I grew up on the beach.

Lisa: So this is your natural color?

Darren: This is me.

Lisa: Well we're excited because we get to hear you sing. So I'm going to be let get up there..

Darren: Cool. All right.

Lisa: Here, to preform His hit, "Insatiable", off His CD "Spin", here is Darren Hayes.

*Darren sings "Insatiable"*

Lisa: Darren Hayes everyone.

Darren: Thank you.
